As our Manager, Corporate Communications, you will be defining, collaboratively with other teams, our communication strategy. You will develop and execute communication plans to ensure that our identity and voice are clearly and adequately perceived. You will be serving different communities of interest internally and externally.
To be successful in this role, you must have had experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, working for innovative, high-growth, global companies.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the executive team and other functional organizations such as Commercial, Clinical Operations, Patient Advocacy, or HR, to develop and implement a communication strategy and supporting plans
Build social media channels such as LinkedIn or Twitter, and continuously improve their effectiveness
Manage and expand the Denali corporate web site to ensure ease of navigation, clarity, depth, relevancy and attractiveness of content
Monitor the media to track awareness and identify opportunities for communication
Compose and distribute press releases, address requests from members of the media and cultivate positive professional relationships with them
Assist the executive team in developing communication material
Support Denali internal communication needs and serve as a communication resource to other functions, as needed
Identify a network of agencies in order to secure the necessary bandwidth and skillsets needed to pursue the mission of the communication team
Develop, implement and adhere to communications budget
Grow and manage the communications team based on Denali needs and priorities
Required Qualifications / skills:
Bachelor’s degree required
7+ years of communications experience, among them 4+ years of healthcare experience, preferably with a biotech or pharmaceutical company
Impeccable written communications skills with demonstrated experience writing effective and compliant social media posts, web content and press releases
Proven experience managing corporate social media channels, particularly Twitter and LinkedIn, and creating effective and compliant content for them
Ability to manage a corporate web presence and a corporate intranet
Understanding of human biology and drug development/clinical trials
Appreciation of regulatory and SEC compliance, reporting and disclosure guidelines
Ability to think creatively, both in conceptual/visual approaches and in problem solving
Experience with fact-checking and verifying sources
Ability to adapt quickly and adjust priorities or plans to accommodate a changing
environment or objectives; comfort with uncertainty
Excellent judgement while working independently and raising issues appropriately
Strong interpersonal skills across organization levels and functions
High level of integrity, team orientation, and treating others with respect
