Bachelor’s degree required. Science majors with strong language coursework or majors in English, journalism, communications are preferred.
An eye for detail and consistency (i.e., resume must be typo-free).
Can demonstrate college-level reading and writing competencies, as well as good judgment, by completing a deceptively simple writing test.
Willing to leverage constructive editing feedback to hone writing skills. Have requisite organizational, time-management, and computer skills.
Take ownership, self-motivated and consistently deliver high-quality work on deadline.
Understand social media marketing and be familiar with SEO.
Have the confidence and poise to communicate authoritatively without condescending.
Show an aptitude for diplomatically building trust and rapport with accomplished scientists and high-level executives.

Expected to develop
Adeptness in distilling dense scientific writing to generate original, easy-to-read, engaging content that is free of excessive jargon, verbosity, careless typos and other faux pas.
Proficiency in interpreting social media and website metrics to determine what followers and site visitors want to read and engage with.
Expertise in SEO best practices and how to write for algorithms as well as humans.
