Scientist - Library Cloning. A creative problem solver who is deeply experienced in molecular cloning, and eager to advance Dyno’s vector cloning capabilities and throughput. This role provides the opportunity to train and mentor other scientists as well as to help expand the team’s capabilities for Dyno’s future. This is a hands-on laboratory position for someone who enjoys planning and implementing solutions directly and who is also interested in developing leadership skills.
How You Will Contribute
As a member of the Library Cloning Team, you will use your molecular cloning experience and creativity to integrate input from stakeholders across the company to design and build the constructs required for Dyno’s AAV engineering platform. You will propose and implement new molecular biology and workflow solutions to increase throughput and capabilities that will enable Dyno to transform the gene therapy landscape.
Collect input from across the company to design and build DNA constructs to advance Dyno’s AAV engineering programs.
Under direction of the Team Lead, plan and manage resources, internal efforts, and outsourcing to deliver high-quality constructs on required timelines.
Train and mentor junior scientists.
Develop or internalize new technologies to advance Dyno’s cloning capabilities and throughput.
Document and report progress to stakeholders.

PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field.
5+ years laboratory experience with significant experience using a variety of molecular cloning and screening techniques.
Strong molecular biology skillset including cloning workflow design, primer design, PCR, Sanger sequencing, and site-directed mutagenesis.
Experience with synthetic DNA, assembling oligo pools, and Gibson/Golden Gate assembly methods, as well as associated transformation methods.
Demonstrated ability to design and execute multiple strategies in parallel to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
Demonstrated ability to optimize throughput and scale of building DNA constructs.
Creative problem solver with a strong “can-do” attitude.
Experience training and mentoring others.
Experience working with viral genome plasmids containing difficult secondary structures.
Experience with pooled or high-diversity library cloning and/or high-throughput cloning.
Experience with NGS library preparation, e.g., Illumina, PacBio, Nanopore.
Experience leading a small team.
