Research Associate - CNS Program Team. The Gene Therapy Group at Dyno applies technologies created by the Dyno platform to discover novel AAV capsids with the potential to improve gene therapies. The group is organized into Program Teams, each with a focus on improving delivery to a target tissue type. The CNS Program is applying the Dyno platform toward improving AAV for delivery of gene therapies to diverse regions and cell types within the CNS. We are building a team of researchers motivated by an interest in CNS biology and a drive to improve treatment options for CNS disorders. This role requires a broad molecular biology skillset and the ability to perform a variety of assays using standardized protocols. You will learn and apply diverse methods for building libraries of AAVs and characterizing their properties in the CNS. You will also work to optimize AAV engineering protocols. This is a highly collaborative position in which you will integrate across the many disciplines represented within Dyno, including cloning, tissue processing, vector production, and in vitro assays. While your primary focus will be in the CNS, you will have opportunities to learn from and contribute to a diverse set of innovative scientific and cultural projects.
Support in executing functional program workflows, including:
High throughput library cloning
Large scale viral vector production
Tissue processing and NGS based gene expression analyses
Compose relevant documentation, e.g. process reports, progress updates, and SOPs
Contribute to the optimization of existing methods and implementation of new methods based on technical advances in the field
Collect data from standard procedures and experiments and contribute to data analysis
Train new staff members
Collaborate with colleagues across teams
Assist in lab organization, including ordering supplies, restocking, and sample tracking
Follow lab protocols and safety regulations

BS or MS in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or related fields
2+ years hands-on wet lab experience
Experience in DNA/RNA purification and analysis protocols (qPCR, RT-qPCR, ddPCR, etc.)
Experience in standard molecular biology methods such as cloning, gel electrophoresis, and primer design
Ability to follow advanced protocols and procedures
Ability to document and maintain an organized account of lab work and results
1+ years of experience in biotech industry
Neuro research experience
Experience in mammalian cell culture and chemical transfections
Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
High-throughput library cloning
Large scale viral vector production and purification
Tissue processing and quantification of gene expression
Experience working with high-throughput assays, e.g., automated sample processing, multi-channel pipetting, molecular barcoding
Experience with ELN/LIMS
Skilled in sequence design and analysis software, e.g., BLAST, Benchling, etc.
