Juvena Therapeutics, Inc. is a regenerative medicine startup inviting applications for Head of Therapeutics Discovery Platform from industry experienced individuals who are excited to work as a leader in an intimate and small team focused on the discovery, preclinical validation, and clinical translation of novel protein-based therapeutics for age-related and rare degenerative diseases.
The position is full-time starting Q1 2022 or sooner. This is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in the exciting and fast-paced environment of a startup company and eager to join at a very early stage as a leader who can greatly influence the trajectory of the company.
The candidate should have significant industry experience in managing cross-functional teams with both internal and external partners in multiple drug discovery and preclinical analysis areas including validation of computational and ML models, in vitro and in vivo data analysis, with a successful track record of Target ID and Validation for pipeline development.
PhD or MD/PhD with 10+ years of industry experience in stem cells and regenerative medicine, and biologics-based drug discovery and development for a diverse range of disease indications leading to successful target ID, novel molecules development, and INDs and/or FDA approved therapeutics.
Established track record of leadership within industry settings in small and large companies (startup a plus) managing diverse and interdisciplinary teams across internal and external (CRO) components simultaneously
Deep technical expertise in combining protein production, proteomics, biochemistry, OMICS datasets generation, safety/tox studies, primary human cell and tissue sample acquisition, high throughput assay validation, and target validation for drug discovery
Broad knowledge of therapeutics discovery and development landscape in the areas of age-related and rare diseases, and degenerative diseases affecting brain, liver, obesity, immune system, bone, and muscle
Experience in building and filing IND applications for biologics
Established record of collaborating with cross-functional teams with both internal and external partners in multiple drug discovery and preclinical analysis areas including validation of computational and ML models, in vitro and in vivo data analysis
Excellent communication and project management skills
Highly self-motivated and driven to succeed
Interest and passion for research on mechanisms underlying the biology of aging, healthspan, and metabesity related fields
