    Loyal is backed by top deep tech & consumer investors and is based in San Francisco, CA. Loyal is founded and run by a female, first-gen CEO.
    About the role
    We are hiring for Special Projects, Aging Biology. You will work closely with our VP, Aging Biology Michael LaCroix-Fralish and CEO Celine Halioua to incubate new projects and diligence ultra-early ideas.
    This is a great role for a trained scientist who wants to use the scientific frameworks they've built during their scientific training to run on various projects related to translational aging. You will go zero to one on scientific areas of interest. You will use your creativity and scientific rigor to quickly break down opportunities in the aging space. You will take loose concepts from our team and quickly prioritize opportunities. The successful hire will have a significant impact on the future of Loyal. This is a combined operations x scientist role

    Your day to day may include...

      • Work with the leadership team on making their ideas reality (or killing them)
      • Diving into a novel area of biology's literature
      • Making and presenting slides
      • Reading patents, working with our IP team to proactively file
      • Identifying and nurturing potential partnerships
      • If a project gets far enough, helping build a team around it

    Who you are

      • PhD or equivalent in a life sciences discipline
      • Preference to previous experience in an operational role, leading a team, or startup
      • Comfortable with diving into areas you may know little about and quickly building competency
      • Strong writing and deck making skills
      • Strong personality, confident pushing against the ‘hierarchy’
      • Independent worker with high internal quality bar

      • It is likely that you will get pulled into different projects and teams unpredictably
      • You may spend time on a project that ends up getting de-prioritized for unrelated reasons
      • We are ~30 people - startup early adolescence - and experiencing the requisite growing pains
      • You will kill more projects than you see through
