Senior/Principal Research Associate, In Vivo Physiology

Calico seeks a skilled integrative physiologist who is excited to work experimentally in an in vivo setting.  Position responsibilities will include the performance of a variety of behavioral and physiological assays as a crucial member of a multi-disciplinary research team.  The ideal candidate will be proficient working independently in the in vivo lab, using cutting-edge technology, and multi-tasking across multiple concurrent projects.  Some additional tasks will be required, including the processing of tissues, molecular biology techniques, and assistance with advanced surgical techniques.

This individual will be embedded in a Data Science-focused team, with her/his/their work being crucial to the success of that team’s goals: connecting molecular & genetic insights into the aging process with their physiological consequences.  To meet those goals, she/he/they will also work in collaboration with a larger, dedicated in vivo sciences team.  This position provides the exciting opportunity for a seasoned physiologist to expand their skill set.

Position requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant lab/small-animal in vivo work experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with advanced physiological techniques.
• Some hands-on experience with molecular biology assays (RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, etc).
• BS, or MS degree in Physiology, Biology, or related discipline.
