The Senior Director, Legal Operations will be a leader in building and scaling our Legal Operations capabilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader and great team player that is passionate about creating operational systems and practices that drive excellence, enhance efficiencies and enable robust transparency and partnership across disparate sets of stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Project/Program Management • Refining and promoting the law department’s mission, in collaboration with the General Counsel and her leadership team, and developing and executing on the department’s short- and long-term operations plan
Managing other strategic plans or initiatives as delegated by the General Counsel
Design, implement, and lead department-wide and company-wide initiatives
Design change management efforts that make the best use of our people and resources
Engage and communicate with stakeholders across the company to identify opportunities to enhance and improve the legal department’s ability to deliver great legal work • Design and roll-out metrics and dashboards
Ensure and foster compliance with corporate and legal standards Technology & Process Portfolio
Create and implement the foundational technology roadmap that reasonably incorporates acquiring systems and building new systems to enable our innovation focused team • Evaluate new vendors, suppliers, and solutions/systems
Automate repetitive or time-consuming manual processes
Partners with key stakeholders to align and amplify integrated and transparent work flows Organization Optimization and Health Enthusiastically lives our culture of curiosity, integrity, and passion for our mission
Ensuring cross-functional alignment across other departments across the company through effective communications, strong relationships, and a deep understanding of the business
Design and implement a recruiting and new hire experience that makes our culture come alive
Overseeing development and implementation of department policies and trainings
Ensures right level of support across legal department staff Vendor Management
Create, sustain, and strengthen firm and vendor relationships that support the legal department needs
Onboard new vendors and firms quickly and efficiently
Create transparency and accountability of vendors through structured business reviews
Identify and action new opportunities for connection and alignment
Develop a strong, predictable, and robust approach to management of legal costs
Develop, manage, and communicate legal budget
Deliver effective communication and partnership with finance
Identify and act on new opportunities for savings and efficiencies Practice Operations
Create, implement, and improve processes to mitigate risk, reduce inefficiencies, and improve responsiveness such that we enable the lawyers to practice law and minimize the time they spend on operational or routine tasks and projects
Create systems and processes to drive quality and ease both through specialized (e.g., IP systems and processes) and general legal practices Knowledge Management
Create, implement, and continually improve systems that save team time and improve outcomes by making it easier to find answers and best practices.
Facilitate knowledge hubs and centers of influence across the legal department and company
Design and continually improve an intranet that makes sharing and finding information and best practices easier
Facilitate the use and practice of standard templates and formats when needed Other Projects and Responsibilities as assigned by General Counsel
