The In Vivo Research Core will report to the SDI Director of Scientific Operations will serve as a central resource to SDI scientists to support the development and implementation of in vivo research models and studies. The In Vivo Research Core Manager will broadly support core operations and report to the SDI Director of Scientific Operations. The Core Manager will be responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of In Vivo Research Core team members. The Core Manager will work closely with the SDI Scientist and Scientific Operations leaders to support the development of methods and workflows, integrate workflows into larger operational networks and working groups, and standardize workflows to drive efficiency and impact of R&D efforts.

• Broadly supports In Vivo Research Core operations, including purchasing and management of equipment, development and implementation of service pipelines, and hiring and supervision of personnel.
• Assists with animal research oversight. Develops animal research protocols and maintains detailed records.
• Manages animal husbandry and breeding activities. Develops and maintains breading colony inventories and records.
• Supports surgical procedures, post op care, longitudinal monitoring, and postmortem procedures.
• Supports in-vivo imaging technologies and behavioral assays.
• Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for In Vivo Research Core support functions.
• Manages inventory and ordering functions for reagents, materials, supplies, and instrumentation.
• Oversees the general upkeep and maintenance of core instrumentation and spaces.
• Assists with planning future expansions with In Vivo Research Core infrastructure, instrumentation, service pipelines, and personnel.
• Interfaces with Core team members, SDI researchers, and Scientific Operations team members to identify areas of in vivo research support.
• Assists with the development, optimization, implementation, and standardization of state-of-the-art in vivo research pipelines.
• Develops and leads training and orientation programs supported by the In Vivo Research Core.
• Maintains accurate and complete hard copy and digital records including electronic notebook entries.
• Works collaboratively across teams and operational levels.
• Attends and presents at team and larger group meetings.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters Degree or PhD in relevant field
• Strong track record of supporting centralized in vivo research services
