    Job Description
    Turn Biotechnologies is currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated Director of Procurement, responsible for ensuring the management, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of the purchasing process for the company.

    Based in Mountain View, California, Turn Biotechnologies, Inc. is a development-stage company focused on restoring cells’ youthful vigor to repair damage caused by the aging process. Using a proprietary ERA™ Platform, we develop mRNA medicines that are specially formulated to instruct specific cells in the body to fight disease or repair damaged tissue. We do this by reprogramming the epigenome to restore cell function that people often lose as they age. This approach can be used to revitalize different cells throughout the body. We are researching its applicability across multiple therapeutic areas, including dermatology, ophthalmology, osteocartilage, and skeletal muscular indications.

    Responsibilities
    Essential duties of the position include:
    ● Responsible for all supply, equipment, maintenance and services requests for the
    company
    ● Serve as the primary contact for procurement related communications, questions,
    training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
    ● Process purchase orders; develop bids and proposals; and reconcile any invoice
    discrepancies
    ● Create and manage procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on
    their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with
    respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or
    recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate and
    implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed
    ● Establish and maintain excellent supplier relations.
    ● Conduct negotiations and manage suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders,
    optimizing pricing and quality
    ● Manage and optimize procurement platform, adding value and efficiency to the
    company
    ● Work closely with the finance, operations and science teams on reporting and budget adherence
    ● Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency
    ● Identify, train, and build a procurement team as the company grows
    ● Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
    ● Understanding key suppliers spend, price trends, savings opportunity, business criticality, cost drivers
    ● Delivering and executing sourcing strategies by leveraging spend, category know-how, robust sourcing, negotiation, contracting, supplier management, and project management skills to achieve objectives and key results

    Qualifications
    ● BS/BA degree or higher
    ● 10+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing
    ● Must have experience in biotech industry
    ● Experience with managing and developing a team as the company grows
    ● Experience with preparing and editing spreadsheets and slide decks
    ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    ● Familiar with Microsoft and Google Suite applications
    ● Experience with Quickbooks or other like systems is a plus
    ● Tech-savvy, able research, troubleshoot, and grasp new software and applications quickly
    ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    ● Strong negotiator and relationship manager
    ● Impeccable time manager.
