What You Will Contribute to Altos
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Research Associate/Senior Research Associate with a strong background in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques to join our multi-disciplinary team of scientists. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly enriching environment and acquire new skill sets for professional development.
- Take part in cutting-edge research and help design and lead projects around cellular rejuvenation and homeostasis.
- Aid in the design, assembly and optimization of a highly modularizable, state-of-the-art genetic toolkit library for synthetic biology.
- Generate and maintain mammalian cell lines.
- Help carry out DNA-, RNA- and ATAC-seq experiments, including library preparation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records in electronic laboratory notebooks.

The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques for DNA engineering and manipulation.
- Strong expertise handling mammalian cell culture.
- Experience using confocal microscopy, with a focus on live cell imaging.
- Familiarity with gene editor and primer design software (Benchling preferred).
- Excellent communication, organizational and record keeping skills.
- Takes pride in dependable and accurate work and is effective at troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of full-time laboratory experience.
- Prior experience with NGS library preparation protocols.
- Track record with iPSC reprogramming and handling.
- Experience in 3D cultures and organoids.
- Experience with multicolor FACS.
