What You Will Contribute to Altos
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Research Associate/Senior Research Associate with a strong background in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques to join our multi-disciplinary team of scientists. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly enriching environment and acquire new skill sets for professional development.
Take part in cutting-edge research and help design and lead projects around cellular rejuvenation and homeostasis.
Aid in the design, assembly and optimization of a highly modularizable, state-of-the-art genetic toolkit library for synthetic biology.
Generate and maintain mammalian cell lines.
Help carry out DNA-, RNA- and ATAC-seq experiments, including library preparation.
Maintain accurate and detailed records in electronic laboratory notebooks.
Who You Are
The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
2+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques for DNA engineering and manipulation.
Strong expertise handling mammalian cell culture.
Experience using confocal microscopy, with a focus on live cell imaging.
Familiarity with gene editor and primer design software (Benchling preferred).
Excellent communication, organizational and record keeping skills.
Takes pride in dependable and accurate work and is effective at troubleshooting.
Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
4+ years of full-time laboratory experience.
Prior experience with NGS library preparation protocols.
Track record with iPSC reprogramming and handling.
