Rubedo is seeking to hire a motivated and dynamic Scientist to advance the discovery of molecular targets for age-related pathobiologies. This individual would support the development and growth of single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics for Rubedo’s portfolio areas of Inflammation and Fibrosis. The position will offer technical and laboratory execution of in-house assay development projects including the design and performance of laboratory experiments, evaluation of test data, as well as the preparation of associated documentation and reports. This person must be experienced in sample preparation for single cell isolation and histology, isolation of RNA or DNA extraction, molecular biology associated with single-cell RNA sequencing and immunohistochemistry. Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning and problem-solving skills in experimental design are needed. The location will be the pre-clinical research laboratories at our well equipped facility in Sunnyvale, CA.
A successful candidate will be an experienced target discovery scientist with a track record of applying informatics solutions to all stages of the discovery process. Candidates who are enthusiastic team players are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. or equivalent in Molecular Pathology, Biology, Immunology, Genomics or related discipline (Biochemistry, Pathology, etc.) - Experience in chronic diseases in one or more of the following disease areas: Metabolic, Inflammatory and Fibrotic Diseases
- Deep understanding of molecular pathways driving pathological tissue degeneration
- Proven ability to solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the art technologies
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership and in moving programs across stage-gate
Preferred Experience And Skills:
- Two or more years of relevant industry experience
- Deep understanding tissue homeostasis and immunology
- Experience in whole animal physiology, extensive knowledge of rodent and non-rodent in vivo models of fibrosis or inflammatory diseases
- Bioinformatics skills, including programming in R/python (or any other language), experience with command line, and familiarity with statistical software packages is highly desired
- Experience with computational and statistical approaches for high-dimensional data analysis
- Environmental Conditions / Physical Demands::
Physical:
Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, standing, bending, repetitive movement, etc.
Enviromental:
Exposure to wet lab environment, blood borne pathogens, and toxic or caustic chemical or reagents
