Who we are:
Calico is an Alphabet-funded research and development company whose mission is to harness advanced technologies to increase our understanding of the biology that controls lifespan, and to devise interventions that enable people to lead longer and healthier lives. Executing on this mission will require an unprecedented level of interdisciplinary effort and a long-term focus for which funding is already in place.
Position description:
We seek a Principal Investigator with an innovative research program that addresses fundamental questions about age-associated inflammation that impact health and longevity. We are interested in individuals studying aging processes from the perspective of the immune system, and/or processes that may initiate age-associated inflammation (e.g. senescence, chronic infections). The successful candidate will be highly motivated to choose novel approaches and have a long-term, original research program with the goal of dissecting causal events in aging.
Principal Investigators at Calico are expected to lead independent, productive research groups in a fully-funded, highly collaborative environment with support from state-of-the art core technology, including genomics, mass spectrometry, microscopy and computational biology. Principal Investigators are encouraged to share their research with the scientific community via publications and seminars.

Applicants should hold a PhD and/or MD, have received appropriate postdoctoral training and have a strong record of originality and productivity. Early or mid-career Principal Investigators are encouraged to apply. Applicants from industry and academia are welcomed. Please include a description of research interests and Resume/CV in the application.
