Who You Are
An exciting opportunity is available for a Scientist to join Altos Labs. A scientist in this position will help develop and execute projects that develop the capabilities for precise perturbations and measurements of biological networks. These technologies will be used for biological investigations ranging from developmental processes to stress response pathways.
Responsibilities
- Engage in ground-breaking and innovative science
- Study the mechanistic basis of cell health and rejuvenation
- Responsible for mentoring graduate students
- Responsible for developing project-specific experimental strategies, techniques, and procedures
- Responsible for helping PI train lab members, including scientists and technicians
- Contribute to writing and dissemination of research results
- Carry out research projects in collaboration with the PI
Competencies
- PhD in molecular biology or related field and a documented record of professional achievement in the form of impactful publications.
- Excellent professional writing skills and the ability to attune through writing and presentations to a variety of audiences including senior executives through entry-level employees
- Problem-solving skills sufficient to identify issues, conduct research, and develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a broad range of people, including staff colleagues, lab members, faculty, outside agencies and collaborators, and the community.
- Demonstrated high productivity and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
- Ability to organize work and set priorities
