Ageing is one of the greatest challenges of our time. As the major risk factor for diseases and functional decline, it is at the root of the most devastating health problems we face. Science has demonstrated that we can slow the ageing process and extend the lives of animals in the laboratory.

At EPITERNA, our mission is to translate these breakthroughs into longer and healthier lives for both pets and people. Our team develops affordable products that can safely slow the ageing process to prevent age-related disease, delay functional decline, and extend life.

We have sufficient funding from investors who are deeply aligned with our mission, so while we are an early-stage start-up, we have the necessary resources to develop best in class research and clinical infrastructure.

We are looking for a medical doctor experienced in clinical research to join our team. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and design, develop, and oversee clinical trials to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of our products.

What you’ll do

Design, implement and execute the first Geroscience trial

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and execute clinical trials, including study design, protocol development, and monitoring trial progress.

Establish and manage the necessary infrastructure for conducting clinical trials, which may involve partnerships with doctors, clinics/hospitals, CROs, and other organizations.

Analyze data on human ageing from biobanks

Develop and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) to ensure ethical conduct and the reliability of trial data.

Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs Specialists to ensure compliance with local and international regulations and guidelines.

Regularly monitor trial progress, identify potential issues, and provide guidance to site staff in addressing these concerns as needed.

Oversee trial data management, analyze data trends, and generate comprehensive reports on study findings.

Stay current on the latest advancements in medicine and clinical trials, and apply this knowledge to enhance EPITERNA's clinical trial initiatives.

What you’re bringing

A Medical Doctor (MD) degree or equivalent qualification or experience.

Strong interest in Geroscience trials.

Experience designing, planning, and executing clinical trials.

Comprehensive knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), research regulations, and ethical considerations in clinical research.

Strong analytical skills for interpreting scientific research, including study design, data analysis, and the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex information.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Highly organized, adept at project management, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

A team-oriented mindset, comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Logistics

We would like you to join as soon as possible.

Ideally you would move to Alicante, Spain (it’s a beautiful place). We work mostly on-site. We believe this is important especially now at the beginning so we can create together EPITERNA’s culture.

Although it won’t be a rule, you’ll probably need to travel. We value close contact with collaborators and partners.
