The Role

Head of Finance. We are seeking a principled finance professional to nurture our financial, planning, and analysis (FP&A) and accounting capabilities to meet the needs of our growing organization. This unique role requires a passionate leader who embraces principles over rules to reinforce a culture of freedom and responsibility needed for innovation to flourish so we can transform the gene therapy landscape.

How You Will Contribute

As Head of Finance you will be responsible for building and developing the company’s FP&A and accounting capabilities through principled stewardship.

Responsibilities:

• Nurture the Finance Team - Build, develop and scale a critically-thinking team of financial and accounting professionals
• Financial Stewardship - Lead transparent and inclusive strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities which enable good decision making at all levels of the Company
• Organizational Stewardship - Advise individuals, teams, organization, and board as needed in all financial matters
• Funding Support - Advise organization on accounting impact of financing activities such as equity fundraising, partnerships, and debt financing
• Financial Operations - Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close in accordance with US GAAP
• Accounting and Compliance - Lead company’s activities with external auditors and ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, SOX, tax, and payroll obligations

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA and audit experience at Big 4 or other nationally recognized accounting firm
• At least 15 years of Accounting and Finance experience with at least 5 years in the life sciences or technology fields
• Experience managing a team of accounting and/or FP&A professionals
• Experience in accounting in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Willingness and ability to “roll up sleeves” and function in a fast paced and evolving environment
• Financial role experience in a principle based freedom and responsibility culture
