    Overview

    The Executive Director, Business Development is a leadership level role within Celularity in Florham Park, NJ. The individual will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and negotiating new business opportunities that are in line with the Company’s overall business and strategic growth objectives. This includes the development of strategic partnerships, joint ventures and alliances, as well as platform technology and intellectual licensing opportunities.

    The individual drives the identification and execution of strategic collaborations leveraging the company’s platform technology and provide commercial input into all decisions related to new product development, including helping to select therapeutic areas, targets and indications. To accomplish this, the individual will lead internal teams of functional experts to evaluate opportunities and develop relationships with external parties; conduct deal benchmarking and deal modeling to maximize partnership value; and direct market and competitive analyses to prioritize pipeline development and portfolio optimization.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the leadership team to drive corporate strategic planning, long-term financial forecasts, and strategic partnerships.
    • Manage all phases of the business development deal cycle, such as opportunity development, pitch presentations, due diligence processes, and negotiations of term sheets and definitive agreements.
    • Identify, prioritize and pursue high-potential partnership opportunities.
    • Perform all required financial, market and competitive analyses, such as valuation analyses; deal benchmarking and deal modeling to maximize partnership value; market and competitive analysis to prioritize pipeline development and portfolio optimization.

      • Exceptional communication and presentation skills: demonstrates executive presence; gains the trust and respect of internal and external constituencies. and works successfully with varied audiences including internal colleagues, external potential partners, and senior executives and Board of Directors.

    Qualifications

    Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in biopharma business development; sell-side platform experience required; and experience developing sell-side presentations for potential partners.

    • Experience in cell therapy a plus.
    • Advanced degree (e.g., M.B.A., or Ph.D., etc.) with a relevant technical degree required.
    • Track record of productive participation and success in a business development role, with an appreciation of all stages of pharmaceutical drug research, development, and commercialization.
    • Deal sheet including transactions executed for clinical and commercial-stage opportunities.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines across multiple transactions.
    • Leadership in managing diligence and negotiation processes.
    • An aptitude to understand new science and technology.
    • Familiarity with successful collaborations, licensing and partnership deals, including a demonstrated ability to understand terms and negotiate and close deals.
    • Knowledge of market and competitive environment including deal activity and potential opportunities.
    • Demonstrated track record of negotiating and structuring transactions with corporate partners
