POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatics software engineer to join our thriving computational biology team. In this role, you will lead development of reproducible and automated workflows for various Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets including, but not limited to, RNAseq, scRNAseq, WGS, WGBS, and ATACseq. In addition, you will assist with optimizing cloud computing infrastructures including compute, data organization, and storage. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with members of the Computational Biology team to create reproducible and scalable workflows
Curate and organize various molecular data from historical sequencing runs
Create visualization solutions for curated high-dimensional NGS datasets that would allow cross-functional discoveries
Assist with integrating different data modalities including clinical datasets for novel discovery
Ensure data quality through data curation, standardization, and harmonization
Setup optimized computing infrastructure including compute and storage environments
Create automated pipelines that enable rapid decisions based on high-throughput analyses
Ensure regulatory compliance of data structures and workflows
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in utilizing programming languages, such as Python/R/Java/C++ as well as bioinformatics pipeline development
Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Shiny and/or Dash
Working knowledge of genomics and bioinformatic data analysis methods
Working knowledge of application and data security concepts
Working knowledge of AWS cloud computing infrastructure
Ability to communicate complex technical information to stakeholders in cross-functional teams
Experience with various DNA sequencing technologies, including short- and long-read sequencing (Illumina, Nanopore, PacBio)
Experience with SevenBridges platform and Nextflow is a plus
