    Position Description:

    Calico is inviting applications from exceptional scientists who wish to contribute to our efforts in identifying, validating, and prosecuting therapeutic targets in cancer. The selected candidate will help devise and conduct innovative target discovery approaches, validate hits, and explore mechanistic biology relating to several areas of focus including novel tumor-specific vulnerabilities and synthetic lethality.

    The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues at Calico to enable and drive drug discovery programs for those targets.

    Position Requirements:

    • Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. as well as postdoctoral training and/or several years industry experience in a field related to cell, molecular, or chemical biology.
    • Exceptional candidates fresh from completing a Ph.D. may also be considered
    • The ideal candidate will have a track record of strong research productivity in cancer related biology
    • Requisite skills include significant prior experience with mammalian cell culture, CRISPR technology, protein biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology. Competency in bioinformatic analysis is also a significant plus
    • You need to be an enthusiastic team player, thrive on attention to detail and have excellent verbal/written communication skills
    • Must be willing to work onsite at least four days a week

    The estimated base salary range for this role is $127,000 - $166,000. Actual pay will be based on a number of factors including experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for two annual cash bonuses.
