eGenesis is seeking a Manager of Facilities & Laboratory Operations to join the Operations team at our Indiana Designated Pathogen Free (DPF) facility. As part of the broader Operations team, you will work closely with team members across our sites in Wisconsin, Indiana and Massachusetts. You will bring a broad range of experience and skills to this role and will take full ownership of facilities and laboratory operations in the cGMP facility. You will create and implement Operations initiatives to meet the facility needs, manage all inventory for the site including shipping and receiving, and manage equipment maintenance. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and the broader Operations team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Site EH&S coordinator and act as the go-to for employees and safety consultants, including writing JSA’s and site specific safety documents
Organize for the removal of regulated waste
Maintain key equipment according to a maintenance schedule and keep accurate records of that maintenance in the CMMS
Ship and Receive packages and deliver to the appropriate location within the facility. This includes loading and unloading the airlock, meeting shipping carriers and couriers for diagnostic samples, etc.
Write and Follow cGMP SOP’s for operations associated tasks when necessary
Act as the facilities liaison to our landlord and outside vendors
Maintain inventory and stocking of common goods for lab and kitchen area
Actively work with operations team members at our other sites as a positive teammate to minimize technical and safety gaps.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5 years in a facilities operations role, with 3 years managing a laboratory or other regulated environment
Must be able to follow SOP’s. Experience with cGMP and writing SOP’s is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate
Must be able to lift, push, pull, shift a minimum 50lb
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, lift files and operate a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus. The employee frequently is required to lift laboratory supplies and equipment within the daily routine. Occasionally the employee may be required to handle and work with large animals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in multiple environments, including office, laboratory, surgery, necropsy, and animal husbandry environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This job may require the use of hazardous chemicals, conduct sample collection on livestock and operate in a dusty environment.
