Herophilus is revolutionizing drug discovery for brain disorders by combining biotechnology, neuroscience, robotics, and machine learning techniques. We employ AI-driven phenotypic screening to discover novel drugs for complex neurological disorders such as autism and neurodegenerative diseases.
We’re building a world-class high-throughput cell culture, microscopy, and bioassay platform that requires integration of industry-standard and custom proprietary robotic systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
This role is as a core member of our Biology team, doing fundamental research for our specific disease models for various neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions. You’ll participate in project teams for partnership and internal projects and have the opportunity for independent work on new technology.
The ideal candidate must have:
experience in generating iPSC-based neurological disease models
expertise in differentiating iPSCs to neurons and/or microglia
success in developing and executing molecular and fluorescence-based assays
a track record of driving projects to completion
worked successfully in cross-functional teams
MS and 3+ years of work experience or a PhD in a biological or neurological science field, with in-depth knowledge of neurobiology, cell biology, and molecular biology
the ability to work full-time hours in our San Francisco office, including some weekend work
Experience working with complex systems such as organoids, other 3D models, and/or co-culture models is preferred.
