    About the position

    We are currently seeking to hire a full-time Scientist to facilitate drug target discovery for neurodegeneration and other neurologic diseases. This position is fully remote and will involve no laboratory work.

    Responsibilities

    • Interacting with data science and in vitro members to identify potential new targets and pathways that impact cognitive aging and neurodegeneration, based on our human cohort omics datasets
    • Interacting with the in vivo team to assist in the development of preclinical models for validating and testing drug candidates in mice and in interpretation of preclinical data
    • Reviewing scientific literature relevant to candidate drug targets identified by our platform to facilitate the process of target prioritization and drug candidate selection
    • Preparing written summaries and recommendations on specific targets and target classes in the context of aging and specific neurodegenerative disease indications to present to the BioAge team

    Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities

    • Candidates should have a PhD with an expertise in neuroscience
    • Experience and knowledge in the area of neurodegenerative diseases
    • Familiarity with mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases
    • Interest in systems biology approaches for facilitating drug discovery
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic biotechnology environment with a diverse group of scientists
