    Morgan Levine’s newly formed group at Altos Labs, San Diego Institute is seeking an enthusiastic Scientist to join the mission to discover cellular rejuvenation programming to restore cell health and resilience.

    Responsibilities

    • Engage in ground-breaking and innovative science
    • Nurture Altos’ culture of collaboration and teamwork among PIs and Altos Institutes
    • Push the envelope of our current understanding of cell health and rejuvenation
    • Responsible for working with other scientists to develop project-specific experimental strategies, techniques, and procedures
    • Contribute to designing projects and experiments, as well as maintaining the momentum and rigor of research
    • Carry out research projects and supervise research projects in collaboration with the PI.
    • Coordinate/contribute to external collaborations with academic groups
    • Liaise with CROs and internal Altos cores/teams to facilitate research projects
    • Develop and/or provide domain expertise in research areas of interest

    Experience

    • PhD in relevant field with demonstrated productivity in the form of a strong publication record
    • Expertise in developmental, stem cell, and/or aging biology. Ideally with experience in chromatin immunoprecipitation, RNA/DNA extraction, NGS library prep, cell culture or organoid models, gene therapy, or CRISPR mediated genome editing
    • Most important are the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment, push the envelope of creativity, and think critically about ‘big picture science’.

    Altos currently requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to legally required exemptions (e.g., due to a medical condition or sincerely-held religious belief).
